AL West

Los Angeles Angels -550
Seattle Mariners +4000
Texas Rangers +800
Oakland Athletics +350

The Angels are leading the division, but are only rank 6th in runs scored in the AL and 11th in team ERA. Hey, they are getting it done somehow. The A's have the only shot of catching the Halos, as they have the 2nd best ERA in the AL, but need to hit better to gain any ground in the division. How's this for a stat: The Rangers rank 1st in the Majors in runs scored but dead last in team ERA. Maybe they could use some pitching. The Mariners were many peoples dark horse picks for the year, but they currently have the worst record in baseball and are 8 games under .500 at home.

AL Central

Detroit Tigers +600
Cleveland Indians +300
Minnesota Twins +500
Chicago White Sox -200
Kansas City Royals +10000

The White Sox are currently the division leaders, as they lead the Majors in team ERA. If their offense wakes up they will dangerous in the post season with their starting rotation. The Indians have hovered around .500 for the whole year, but have not really threatened for the division title, and ranking out of the top 10 in the Majors in both team ERA and runs scored will do that. The Twins are also around .500, but they have the 6th worst team ERA in the Majors. Watch out for the Tigers! After a horrendous start, the Tigers are playing well and are currently out of 1st place in the division by only 6 games. Their pitching needs to improve, as they have the 5th worst team ERA. The Royals? Well another year of being well under .500.

AL East

Boston Red Sox -220
New York Yankees +500
Toronto Blue Jays +750
Tampa Bay Devil Rays +300
Baltimore Orioles +5000

Can anyone catch the Red Sox? They have stormed into the lead in the division, as they rank 8th in team ERA and 4th in runs scored in the Majors. And they get David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez back soon from injury. The Yankees are ready to make their annual 2nd half push, but can their pitching help them out? They rank 17th in team ERA and their Ace Wang was recently injured. Has Cinderella left the building? The Rays enjoyed first place in the division for most of the year, but they are starting show signs of sliding down in the division even though they still lead the AL Wild Card race. The Blue Jays can pitch, 3rd in team ERA, but can't hit, rank 25th. The Blue Jays need more bats north of the border. The Orioles rank 19th in team ERA and 21st in runs scored, and they are only 8 games out of first place?

National League

NL East

New York Mets +400
Philadelphia Phillies -275
Atlanta Braves +700
Florida Marlins +400
Washington Nationals +10000

The Philliies are taking control of the division and recently swept the Braves at home, which gave notice that the Phils are the team to beat. They rank 2nd in the majors in home runs and their pitching has been solid. The Mets are teetering, as they have the talent and it may be a spark as manager Willie Randolph was recently fired. Can the returning Pedro give them a lift? The Braves rank 3rd in team ERA in the majors, but have slumped as of late and were swept by the Phillies at home, where they were previously almost unbeatable. The Marlins were hot for a while leading the division and have played well even though they have the 21st ranked team ERA. Washington ranks dead last in team ERA and 21st in runs scored. At least there's presidential buzz in America's capital.

NL West

Los Angeles Dodgers +250
Arizona Diamondbacks -300
Colorado Rockies +6000
San Diego Padres +1000
San Francisco Giants+1500

Arizona started the year on fire, but they have cooled off. They should make the playoffs and what team wants to face a 3-man rotation of Randy Johnson, Dan Harren, and Brandon Webb? The Dodgers offense is weak, ranked 22nd, but can Torre work his 2nd half magic in Tinseltown? The Dodgers were recently swept by the Detroit Tigers. The Padres are streaking after a terrible start and they are starting to play better. Can you say, NL Pennant dark horse? Peavey is getting healthy, but they need to score more, as they rank 29th in the NL in runs scored. At least the Giants still play in a beautiful ballpark, as the more Barry Zito pitches the more he looks like his best days were left across the Bay. Colorado has been beset by injuries and they have the 3rd worst team ERA. Really? Pitching problems in Colorado.

NL Central

Chicago Cubs -400
Milwaukee Brewers +800
St. Louis Cardinals +400
Houston Astros +1400
Cincinnati Reds +3300
Pittsburgh Pirates +6000

The Cubs are currently hot and rank 1st in the NL in team ERA and 2nd in runs scored. This may be the year that the curse ends, as the Cubbies are a great team and currently have the best record in the Majors. The Cardinals are sticking around in the division and may have a chance if they make a 2nd half push. Milwaukee is above .500 but rank 11th in runs scored in the NL and 9th in team ERA. Their bullpen needs help and if they do not get it they can kiss the playoffs good-bye. Houston started the season badly and not much has improved, even though Lance Berkman is a Triple Crown threat. The Astros have the 3rd worst ERA in the NL. The highlight for the Reds is that Ken Griffey Jr. joined the 600-homer club, but that's about all they have to be happy for, as the Reds have the 4th worst team ERA in the NL. Pittsburgh? Worst team ERA in the NL, nuff said.
