Baseball BettingWeekend Road Warriors: July 3
MLB bettors could be in for some real profits this weekend with a number of ace pitchers scheduled to make road starts. On Friday night the Seattle Mariners head to Boston with Felix Hernandez looking to continue his hot streak. In his last seven starts Hernandez is 4-0 and he hasn’t allowed more than two runs in any of those outings. Last time out Hernandez went eight innings against the Dodgers and allowed only one unearned run with nine strikeouts. Pitching in Boston on Friday night Fernandez should be the underdog on the odds, and pay off if he keeps mowing down hitters. On Saturday the Blue Jays make their first visit to new Yankee Stadium with their ace Roy Halladay on the mound. Halladay made his first start since coming off the DL earlier this week and took the loss despite allowing only two runs in six innings. If he can hold the Yankees to two runs on Saturday he could be in line for a win this time. The Yankees will start Chien-Ming Wang, and he’s been awful at home this season with an 11.57 ERA. Also worth noting is that Halladay faced the Yankees in May, went nine innings, and allowed only one run on five hits. Sunday’s MLB slate includes three big-name aces getting starts on the road: St. Louis’ Chris Carpenter, the Mets’ Johan Santana, and Arizona’s Dan Haren. Carpenter faces the Reds on Sunday, a team he has owned in his career. In 10 starts against Cincinnati he is 4-3 with a 2.29 ERA, which includes a complete-game three-hitter earlier this season in which he allowed only one run. Santana makes his third start of the season against the Phillies on Sunday afternoon. In those two previous starts Santana went 2-0 with a 3.21 ERA. Maybe the familiar Phillies will help Santana get out of a recent funk that has seen him go 1-3 in his last four outings. Haren leads the Diamondbacks into Colorado on Sunday looking for another win over the Rockies. Haren is 1-1 in two starts against the Rockies this season, but he should be 2-0; in that one loss he allowed only one run in seven innings. In eight career starts at Coors Field Haren is 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA. Bet Baseball Online With Your Credit Card |
